Jen and Sarah are ZoeJo

Like all good ideas, Zoe Jo was born on a cocktail napkin over margaritas. We met in grad school. Through afternoons painting in our studios across the hall and taking breaks to watch Oprah our friendship began.  This blog is our way of continuing those studio talks. These days we both find ourselves working the 9 to 5 job in the design industry.  We miss those afternoons when there was a friend across the hall to share the coolest thing you just found.  This blog is our afternoon conversation..we hope you enjoy.

Why the name ZoeJo?

You remember how to do this. Channel your 6th grade self at a slumber party. You each make a list of the top ten names you would give your daughter. Match names from each list until you find the one with just the right sound. Thus we named Zoe Jo. We think it sounds cool.

And then…

We were also thinking about daughters because we were thinking about mothers, and grandmothers, and sisters, and aunts, and great grandmothers, and best friends. We were thinking about all the great women in our lives. We were thinking that we love women and being women. We were thinking about how hard it is sometimes, and how great it is sometimes. We were thinking that maybe one day we can be on someone’s list of great women.
