Nursery Progress
By Sarah | February 16, 2010
The nursery is slowly but surely coming together. The grand vision isn’t complete. I’ve still got mobiles to create, shelves to hang, and general decorating to be done. But a few parts are really starting to feel like baby’s new home. Here’s a few close-up snap shots of how things are coming together…

The rocking chair was my grandmothers (my mom had it refinished) and the quilt is from mom. She bought it in Eureka Springs, AR soon after I found out I was pregnant. The lime green is a toy box I repainted, but left some of the original wood exposed and the letter “e” from the name Alexander that was formerly printed across the front. The blocks were a gift from R. I love them! She bought them through Tiny Giraffe on etsy. We’ve also received so many wonderful books from friends and family! So we created a little reading corner with ohdeedoh inspired front facing wall ledges. I’ve started to hang some art above his crib, from my Zooburbia series.
I’m really ready to rush and get all the little pieces put together. Besides the due date fast approaching I’m afraid I won’t even be able to climb the step ladder for much longer! So if you’re looking for me on the weekends, you’ll find me busily working on “Project Nursery.” Hopefully before too long I can show some full pics of the finished room!

It looks great! I love the toy box and that the “e” is from the previous name. So creative and fun! Are the curtain panels made from Dwell Studio fabric? I love all their stuff. Clara has lots of their cute sleepers and outfits.I hope you are feeling good. Not too much longer! Wish you the best in these last days and a smooth easy labor!

Heather…i put myself in your photographic hands
Janna…thanks so much! The fabric is from Urban Outfitters. Its an old pattern from a deisgner named Alexander Girard. I’m pretty sure he is a big design influence on dwell studio.
Jenni…wow! you didn’t have to do that, thanks! I’ll be eagerly checking my mailbox:)

Sarah, I LOVE what you did with the toybox. You should post before and after pictures so people can see…or submit to Design Sponge (or both!) <3 Deb
