Why I Love the Internet
By Sarah | July 30, 2009
The first thing I do in the morning after I sit down at my desk is open up the Internet and start going through my daily blog reads. Design*Sponge is always the first on my list. Yesterday morning I was checking out the sneak peek into the home of Jill Elliott Sones from Fossil. I was particularly interested since she is a Dallas local, and you know that we love Dallas. Her home has a great mid century appeal balanced with alot of playful elements. I was shocked and over the top excited to see one of my paintings hanging above Jill’s mantle!

I contacted Jill to find out how she came to own the piece. Turns out it was given to her a housewarming gift. Back in 2003 Jen and I were still in grad school and did a few shows at hair salons in the Dallas area. We had work at JohnVega, Richard Hayler, and the Salon at Neiman Marcus downtown. I always get so thrilled when I see my work out of the studio and in someone’s home. This was such a cool suprise…the internet is a wonderful place. Thank you Jill for displaying the work so proudly and in such a great home!

Be sure to check out the rest of her house here.

Sarah!
Thanks so much to feature this. I am so glad you contacted me - I’ve always wondered who the talented artist was that created this beautiful painting.
Best,
Jill

I love that it sits on the mantle… I may have to find a way to copy that look.
