Sarah

the Missions

By Sarah | June 9, 2009

I spent the last few days in San Antonio with a stop over in Gruene to do some kayaking on the Gualdalupe river.  It was the perfect weekend.  Nothing like sitting along the river with some good salsa and chardonnay at the Gristmill.  Being a good Texan, I made my visit to the Alamo.  The day seemed more poignant since I was there on June 6th, the 65th Anniversary of D-Day.  After listening to Obama speak in the morning, I was more aware of all the service men and women around in uniform.  I felt so very grateful.

R and I even went and visited some of the other missions outside of downtown.  This was a first for me.  The two we went to were established in the early 17oo’s.  What wonderfully preserved history…..dsc03743
