5×7
By Sarah | May 22, 2009
For the last few years I’ve donated to the Arthouse 5×7 Fundraiser. Artists connected to Texas are asked to create works at the size of 5″ x 7.” The art is then sold anonymously at $100 each. Its a cool concept and makes for a great show. The big event was a couple weeks ago, but the show is up in Austin at the Arthouse for the rest of the month. If you can’t make it to Austin to see the show, never fear. The unsold work will continue to tour and be sold at other galleries in Texas cities. I really like these 360 images of the gallery that photographer Robert Harshman took.
The sketches I had been doing were part of my prep work for my 5×7 pieces. Although I eventually painted out the animals completely…typical. Only a ghost of the animals is left. I guess for me thats part of the point, jut going where the art takes me. Which also means I make alot of crappy art. Making stuff is fun.

Are you still selling those 5×7’s for $100? Let me know. Have enjoyed reading your postings. Makes me feel closer to you. I saw you are having a boy! That is great. Let me know when he is born and send a pic.
Love,
