Texas Wildflowers
By Sarah | April 15, 2009
I love a Spring roadtrip in Texas. We headed about 5 or 6 hours south down I-45 for the Easter weekend to visit family. This is the BEST time to get out on the road in Texas. The wildflowers are everywhere! I remember taking roadtrips with my grandparents and them pulling over on the side of the highway to take pictures of my sister and I in the bluebonnets. I also remember thinking I was going to get arrested for picking bluebonnets when I was akid. Hey, don’t mess with Texas. I’m no photographer but I tried to get some quick pics of the wildflowers when we stop for breaks on the drive
Crimson Clover
Blackeyed Susan….we saw huge fileds of these
I was on a mission to get a great bluebonnet picture and this is all I got. Had to take it out the car window as we exited the highway. They really were beautiful. And actually blooming best towrds the metroplex. Although I would imagine the bluebonnets in the hill country are amzing right now.
For more info on the Texas Wildflowers look here. And I also thought this guy had some truly quintessential Texas Wildflower images.
Get out on the road, the flowers won’t be here much longer!
