Objectified SXSW
By Sarah | March 17, 2009
R has been down in Austin the past several days for SXSW Interactive, which is also overlapping with the SXSW Film Festival. Jealous doesn’t begin to describe my feelings when I got a call from him a couple hours ago telling me that he was waiting in line to get tickets to a screening of Objectified. So here I sit at my desk wishing to be sitting in a nice cold theatre viewing what is sure to be a great documentary. I can’t wait to hear R’s thoughts on the film.
Check out the trailer in the post below. The poster for the film was designed by Build. Read Wire’s review here. Objectified is by Gary Hustwit, who also did Helvetica.
Objectified is a feature-length documentary about our complex relationship with manufactured objects and, by extension, the people who design them. It’s a look at the creativity at work behind everything from toothbrushes to tech gadgets. It’s about the designers who re-examine, re-evaluate and re-invent our manufactured environment on a daily basis. It’s about personal expression, identity, consumerism, and sustainability.
Please screen in Dallas……
