admiring Eva
By Sarah | January 16, 2009
I keep thinking about a salt and pepper set designed by Eva Zeisel for the Nambe store that I passed up over the holidays.
I love her design aesthetic so deeply. Her line and form is so soft and organic. She calls herself “a maker of useful things.” I own one Ziesel piece that I received as a wedding gift from her classic century collection for Crate and Barrel.
I’m definitely going to continue collecting her work and not let another beautiful piece pass me by.
See more of her products here.
At 103 years she is still designing in New York. She was born in Budapest in 1906 and in 1936 survived 16 months in a Russian prison camp. Eva Zeisel has lived on to be one of the great modern designers of the last century. Read more about her here and here.
